Ducked in here Saturday before heading up to theater. Granted, was empty when we arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday. Liked the place. Menu not that broad. Started with 6 plump oysters which were of great quality. The mignonette though had OIL in it - untaditonal and more like salad dressing. Not good. Cocktail sauce fine. Adequate bread basket - good olive bread. I had steak frites - not the usual flat hanger steak, but a nice thick cut. Cooked as requested. Lots of fries, though they were a bit too thickly cut. My Belvedere martini was fabulous and ordered a glass of house merlot (French) with the steak that was nice and smokey.
Friend had the filet mignon (au poivre) and he loved the sauce. Other friend had a burhger which seemed gfine, he ate it but didn't really comment. Nice space, good crowd. I think i read bad reviews of the place on this board and I thought it was nice. Nothing spectacular but certainly a fine option.
