Merguez sausage info needed

Info needed for Merguez sausage …. I had some at a barbecue, was small-link sized, pleasantly spicy and colored red. Any advice where to buy on Chicago's Northside, what to ask for? Also, are they one particular meat or can they be made from different meats? Appreciate any other thoughts on creative, ethnic summer-grilling. Thanks.
