Menu help for "Tea Party" theme wedding shower

potbellypig | Apr 9, 201704:42 AM     29

Good morning! I am helping to plan a "Tea Party" theme wedding shower. The bride loves all things England, and Tea, hence the theme. We have vintage tea cups for favors, and dozens of teapots for decorations.

But I'm having trouble coming up with food substantial enough for lunch, and very frankly I don't want it to seem like cheap filler food (cream cheese and cucumbers, while delicious, but how much can you eat?)

I'm looking for some ideas for a bit of a heartier finger sandwich or something to serve besides sandwiches that will not be out of place. For example a seafood salad in endive leaves, mini quiche or shrimp cocktail?

OR, serve finger sandwiches as an appetizer and scones (and other little cakes) for dessert, but serve something like Baked Ham and various salads as the main.

Any thoughts?

Thank you
