I enjoyed a local Oktoberfest celebration last week and I am thinking of trying a small-scale home version next week. For the menu, I am thinking about grill-roasting a pork loin in advance, and then reheating thick slices of it in a pan of noodles sauteed with butter, paprika and saurkraut. Also serving some brats sauteed in butter with onions, and then braised with saurkraut and maybe some Rhine wine or Gewurz. Some plain noodles for the four-year-old kids, some green beans alongside all of this.
I guess I'm looking for affirmation here. These recipes are not from a German cookbook or anything, they just sound good to me and sort of Germanish. Would anyone care to add to this menu or suggest modifications?
