Memorial Day weekend-help?

AlabamaCPA | May 22, 200506:05 PM

Sorry for the lengthy post. My husband and I will be bringing our 18 and 20 year old sons to NO next Saturday afternoon, staying thru Tuesday afternoon. They have heard us talk about Commander's turtle soup and bread pudding for 20 years and say they must try it. We loved Brigtsens (w/o kids) last year. The problem is Monday. Neither Dick & Jenny's (which we haven't tried) or Brigtsen's is open. This was my plan, Sat nite, Dick & Jenny's, Sunday Commanders jazz brunch, light supper at Casementos. Monday, light lunch at Napolean or Cobalt (we're staying at the Intercontinental), then dinner at Mandina's or Tommy's (which?). Or is there something else open on Monday we should try? Our #2 son will be starting college in the fall so we don't want to break the bank. Tues AM beniets and then lunch at Harbor Seafood when we take the 20 year old to the airport. My husband loves raw oysters. We will have wheels. The 20 year old is a VT Hokie so was there for Sugar Bowl, but ate (and stayed) at dives. To his credit, he took his 9 VT friends to Preservation Hall (watched 3 sets). The 18 year old has never been. We have eaten at CP each time we have visited NO and ate at Casemento's last year as well as Brigstens and Aldolpho's. We want the kids to experience NO, beniets, po'boys, Preservation Hall, as well as a fabulous meal. What about the Rock'n Bowl for them? It sounds unique.
