Our ages-old electric meat grinder was flooded a couple months ago, and Thanksgiving (and rice dressing!) is coming up. Old faithful was an old Proctor-Silex that treated us well for our 4-6 light to medium duty/high volume uses per year, but it seems Proctor-Silex has moved from the world of electric meat grinders. Any recommendations for an inexpensive model (with coarse to fine discs) for relatively infrequent use? We may go for a manual model for the interim, if we can't find an electric model.
Also, any experience with the KitchenAid grinder attachment? Friends' experiences with the pasta attachment haven't been good. How does the KA hold up for fine and coarse grinding? Cleaning? Operation?
