Yes, meat cart is a bit crude. Some might call them souvlaki, some gyros, some kebabs. But whatever they're called, they're most often meat on a stick served with some sort of bread; sometimes dry and sometimes with fix-ins. Most praises I have heard are for the cart on the SW corner of 31st+31st. But my nostrils undulate when I pass by the cart at Steinway and 31st. I think the cart there might have an occasional competitor across the street, usually with way fewer people hanging around. On chowhound, I read praise about the cart on Steinway and 34th yesterday. Then there's the late night standard on NW corner of 32nd and Broadway. Let's read about your admirations and abominations, and why.
