Maxine's Bistro & Bar

Unless my search skills are just not up to par, this place, located at The Catalina hotel on Collins Ave. near 18th St., flies completely under the radar, as I could find no mention on this board or Zagat.

My daughter and I stumbled in this morning for breakfast and had a lovely time. They have a beautiful patio out front and an extensive menu. My daughter loved her nutella waffles, and I had an egg scramble wrap (the "spicy baja wrap"), which wasn't at all spicy until I doused it in tabasco, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The place is pricey, as the menu prices reflect both the hotel-restaurant premium and the outdoor dining premium. Our breakfast, with coffee and fresh oj, came to $50. But the food and service both were good. And it's open 24 hours.
