Mauviel pan - burned wax

fubar | Jan 6, 201811:54 PM

Hi!
I've just bought my first mauviel pans, and eagerly started to follow the instructions comming with the pan... i've put the pan in the oven over a cloth a a layer of baking paper at 200C. The instructions said an hour, an hour and a half will be enough to melt entirely the wax. About an hour in, i've smelled something burning and checked the oven, but nothing serious, just smoke... i've noticed brown coloring, but decided that maybe its normal. After ten more minutes, the smell just bacame stronger, so i decided to finally take the pan out and wipe it with another cloth.. but i couldnt wipe anything.. it seems the wax just burned into the pan... with my second smaller pancake pan there was no problem, because it baked for a lot less time as soon as i saw the wax melting on the paper... any ideas how to "fix" it, or there is no way and the pan is garbage now and have to throw it away?
