Our friends invited us to their new favorite restaurant and we were not disappointed.
We started off with the Mastro's Mambo Salad, my husband said it was one of the best salads he has experienced. He loved that it had a surprise "bite" to it...we figured it had to be freshly grated horseradish. He enjoyed the generous serving. The bread (a huge addicted fan of breads) was outstanding. The pretzel bread, the rolls, and the crunchy and tasty parmesan garlic crostini was enough for me to just sit and eat all night long. I ordered the Vanilla Battered Shrimp for my appetizer and the humongous three prawns were not overcooked, delicious, and so crunchy.
My Flirtini was presented along with the martini shaker and it had about three martinis in it. YUMMMM. The presentation was memorable by having dry ice in the glass. My martini immediately started bubbling and smoking...very cool. The martini was icy cold and smooth.
Our server was outstanding...attentive, explained in detail and steered us in the right direction on choices. Even though this was the ocean restaurant, we all opted for the steak and we were not disappointed. Unbelievable! Like buttah! It came on sizzling plates that were 400 degrees! Loved that it came hot. The side dishes were the fried onions (mounded ever so high), the asparagus and the wonderful Lobster Mash Potatoes (not cheap at $30!). We had so much food that we were all able to take home!
The desserts were wonderful and our favorite was the chocolate torte...very light, fudgy and came along with a dish of overflowing whip cream.
I loved Mastro's and felt that it was a restaurant that was worth every dime! The whole experience was outstanding and I hope they maintain that same level each and every time. I can't say enough of this place!
