Mastering the Spanish Tortilla (Omelette)

I have watched videos and none of them work for me (when it comes to flipping the tortilla by transferring it into a plate and then back to the pan), The top is still pretty runny and when I do that, the shape gets ruined no matter how careful I am....It always ends up becoming a delicious scrambled eggs and home fries meal, but I would like to be able to "master the art" of the Spanish Tortilla. Any advice?
