Marmalade Cafe - Westlake Village

We had to be out in the area for my wife's business on Sunday morning and decided to try breakfast here, (I know they have multiple locations, and a long time ago we had dinner at the one in Sherman Oaks).

The first thing I will say is that it must get a captive audiance so to speak, because it had a pretty good crowd when we got there about 9:15 or so. They showed us to a table and I was wishing the weather would have been a bit warmer because I would gladly have sat outside by the koi pond/running brook.

The food is OK. I tried their chorizo scramble. I kept on adding tobasco trying to get some heat going, but what was I expecting from a place that caters to the common denominator. My wife had the lox and bagel with tomatoes and capers. Coffee was fine, service was pleasent and efficient. Check was $26 plus tax and tip. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, and if we are ever in the same situation I would probably drive back over the hill to our neighborhood for breakfast. I will say that the area is certainly pretty, in that sanitized sort of faux Spanish look that dominates out there.
