This place (Marjolaine French Pastries, 14441 Big Basin Way, Saratoga) looked promising from the sidewalk and the breakfast pastries in the display cases were beautiful. But they fell down on the taste test. The pain au chocolat was doughy and lacking buttery richness and the bear claw was filled with grainy, crystalized almond paste. Also, these were not inexpensive costing nearly $5 for both pieces.
Anywhere else worthwhile for the next time Im in the area?
