Marie Brizard Chocolate Royal

Vereville | Nov 9, 200507:32 PM

It was called Marie Brizard Chocolate Royal in 2002, formerly marketed as Marie Brizard Chocolat Royalle (in the 1990s), Marie Brizard Chocolate (in the 1980s), and Marie Brizard Chocolat (in the 1950s-1980s). It's a totally different product than Marie Brizard Cocao or Dark Cocao...

I used to buy this all the time. Unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued in the states. It was a thick, opaque, dark chocolate liqueur with 18 percent alcohol that was a dead ringer for U-Bet syrup (with an alcohol base rather than water). There was no cream in it at all. I've never seen anything else quite like it.

Has anybody got any idea where, in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County area, I might be able to track down some old stock of this?

If not, is there some comparable product I'm missing? This was intended as a holiday gift for some elderly relatives and I'm having a heck of a time tracking anything down!
