Well and widely known, well and widely liked, and highly rated -- A Mano is the real deal. I had dinner here recently and simply put, it was excellent.
It was a quiet Tuesday night, so the place was not overly crowded. Nice space, open, high ceilings...and a tile floor. Be careful, I can see it possibly being a bit slippery. Also, it can lead to tables being "wobbly" -- although they are right on top of this, immediately, and have this handled with shims/wedges, etc. I was impressed with this. They checked the table they brought us over to. Regardless, nice space. Service was very good -- attentive, not overly intrusive, but on top of more water, silverware, ordering, wine glasses, dessert, etc. Service was very positive.
On to the food -- excellent. We had a salad and the meatballs, which are apparently a popular item. Both were very good, and kudos to the meatballs. A lot of flavor, seasoning, taste, and they were well balanced, kind of "light" in that they were just right, not too dense, heavy, etc. My friend had a pasta dish -- which was very good, also a lot of flavor...and I had...and the focal point at A Mano...is...the pizza! This was excellent pizza. Very good crust, well prepared, seasoning, flavor -- all of it -- excellent! They have an extensive menu of pizza, a variety of specials, toppings, etc. Check out the website.
I would and will go back...very soon.
Also, I don't know/remember the details, but -- Monday and/or Tuesday night, buy one pizza, get another free or half price. I don't know, but whatever it is...it is worth checking out. I can see why this place is so widely popular and thought of. One of the best pizzas I've had in a very long time, and in my opinion one of the best in Northern NJ.
