We're starting to have a beer geek bar discussion on outer borough, that's spilling over into Manhattan.
Dee Dee's Manhattan picks are:
"d.b.a. (although I've had a lot of problems of late with ordering beers and then getting the reply "we're out of it"
Blind Tiger Ale House
Vol de Nuit
Gingerman (good selection, but I don't like the crowd it attracts)"
The Rogue was wondering about "Zum Schneider, the German beer garden at 107 Ave C."
I've been to Zum Schneider and really liked the woody, open air atmosphere but found the beer REALLY expensive.
If you like German beer, the Silver Swan on 20th between park and broadway has a great selection as well. However, I don't particularly like German beer.
One of my favorite places for a beer is St. Andrews on 44th Street between 6th and 7th. I love Scottish beer, and this is (to my knowledge) the only Scottish bar in Manhattan. They've got a great selection of beer on tap and in bottles.
