It's been a long time since I've seen a post about M.C. This was my first visit ever and I was impressed. There's nothing distinctive about the selection or the ambience, but there was care in the kitchen and in the service staff. Ten of us tried virtually everything proffered, and I especially liked that there were many greens (including sparkling chives, Chinese broccoli, etc.) available.

My very favorite thing I tasted was the "barbecued chicken," served in aluminum foil. Evidently, this used to be a specialty of M.C., and has just come back, at least on the weekends.

Tons of food (no drinks) -- $15. per person including tax and tip. M.C. is located at 61 Mott Street
