i've got it in my head to make tamales for xmas this year. a trio questions come to mind:
-- does anyone have a good online source of recipes for tamales? i have diana kennedy's book but am looking for other points of view.
-- can i use a bamboo vegetable steamer for tamales or should i acquire a specialized tamale steamer? does anyone know a good source for one in / around new york city?
-- does anyone know a source for better tamal dough than maseca in the new york area? (i'll post this on the ny outer boroughs board as well, so respond there if you know.)
