Making Pickles

SLAP | May 6, 2002 10:54 AM

I tried to make some Pickles recently following a recipe from the Second Ave Deli's Cookbook. They didn't turn out very good. I'm wondering if any other Hounds have some experience making Kosher dill's? What the best method?

Second Ave's recipe calls for boiling Water/Salt and letting it cool down. then pour this mixture over kirby's. then add some broken garlic, dill, mustard seeds, coriander seeds and a chili pepper. let stand for three days in a cool place(not the refrigerator) and skim the scum. then refrigerate.

Anybody have a better way? or adjustments...
