Lunch for the working stiff: Century City vs. Downtown

JudiAU | May 4, 2004 05:37 PM

I have worked in Century City for six years. Prior to that I worked in Downtown for two years. Considering taking a job based in Downtown.

Anyone willing to comment on the relative charms of both locations?

Century City requires me to drive anywhere decent. Favorites include Clementine, Echigo, several places in the Sawtelle corridor, Bay Cities, Al Gelato, errand shopping in BH for cheese, chocolate, etc. and santa monica seafood, emergency shopping at Gelsons, kosher sausage shop on pico, etc.

Downtown give me Little Tokyo and Chinatown, oysters at Water Grill, more trips to the opera and theatre, but??? It doesn't seem to be winning, especially on the shopping for foodstuffs calculation.

Thoughts?
