LUNCH-TASTE OF INDIA : DINNER- CAVE VIN MSP

MIKELOCK34 | Mar 1, 2008 03:15 PM

We had lunch at Taste of India in Maplewood yesterday. We tried their lunch buffet. The staff was very friendly. We did not care for any of the items on the lunch buffet. The curries were incredibly bland as were the other items that we tried. The fried items were very greasy.

We had dinner at Cave Vin' yesterday. We tried their escargot, frog legs (for Leap Day), mussels and frites. The staff was friendly. The escargot were completely tasteless. The frog legs tasted only of lemon juice and were slightly overcooked. The mussels were tasteless. The frites were crispy and tasted okay. Each of the three items that we tried were in need of salt. The service was just okay. The waitress would not pour wine for any of her tables. They may do that as an odd restaurant policy though since all of the tables in the restaurant seemed to be pouring their own wine. Their wine prices are fairly reasonable. They do half price on their bottles on Monday and Tuesdays.
