Lunch Special Review - Malaysian Rasa Sayang

Mike V | Dec 23, 2005 02:59 PM

Choice of soup or salad. I had the soup which is a spicy red fish broth with some fish, mushrooms & vegetables (similar to Tom Yam). Soup was outstanding. I had the Mango Beef entree which was served in a mango shell with a large serving of rice. Beef was very tender with thin slices of mango. Excellent dish. Dessert is a hot bowl of Red Bean Soya Milk. Very tasty and perfect for a cold day. Meal comes with a pot of tea. A neighbor went recently and had the fried boneless chicken with Siam sauce and didn't like it. The lunch menu is separate from the regular menu so if you don't receive it ask for it. Lunch menu has 12 choices. Lunch is $5.50. A few weeks ago, I went at night and had the Tom Yam Noodle Soup (#121) which was an enormous bowl of seafood soup including shrimp with rice noodles. It was so very good and a bargain at $5.50. I ended up taking 1/2 home and enjoyed it for lunch the next day. I plan on returning again for this dish. Lunch is served 12 - 3PM, Mon to Fri. 75-19 Broadway, Elmhurst.
