Just had lunch at blue smoke..

I just came back from lunch at Blue Smoke. I had a hard time deciding between the half rack of Kansas city ribs (14.95) or the 3 course Prix fix lunch which also included the K.C. ribs in its selection(20.95). So before I ordered, I asked the waitress what was the difference in portions if i ordered the ribs off the regular menu versus prix fix and she replied it was less one rib difference if i had ordered from the prix fix. Well one rib wasnt much of a difference so I decided to pay the extra $6.00 and try the prix fix menu. For my appetizer i selected the peel n' eat shrimp which would normally go for $10.95 a la carte. I'm sure i was only getting a small portion of it but that was ok. For my entree i selected the Kansas City rib and for the dessert I went along with the popular chocolate cake which would have costed $6.95 off the menu. When the shrimp arrived i expected 3 pieces of shrimp but i was surprised with what seemed like at least 8 pieces. Definitely more than what i expected. The chipotle chicken wings we ordered was nicely seasoned and delicious. My entree of K.C. ribs was gigantic! Unlike some BBQ places that serves you a rack of ribs with no meat, this pig was well fed! The generous portion from the appetizers left me full so I was unable to continue after 1 rib so i packed the rest to go (maybe because i sampled my friends dishes). My friend ordered the trio of rib (notin prix fix) which was delicious but for $24.00 with no appetizer and dessert, he was a bit disapointed because it looked as big as my platter. I also tried the beef brisket was tender and delicious. One of my friend ordered the grilled salmon which i didnt get to try but i could tell it wasnt your ordinary dry salmon which most places make the mistake of but it was slightly undercooked for what i assume a much more tender salmon. For dessert my chocolate cake came with a side glass of milk which helped wash down the delicious cake. It was very moist, not too sweet with a silky chocolate ganache frosting. YUM. Overall i was very impressed and will continue patronizing blue smoke.
