We had a lunch here recently with great enjoyment. We were seated downstairs in a cozy two top, and had great food including standouts of beef cheek ravioli and flank steak (likely the best renditions I had for both). They also serve WBG using Coravin device and pour some aged bottles by 3oz and 5oz which can add to one's indulgence you surely are tempted here.
The reason for this post is actually about their service. There's is one that is detailed, anticipatory, gracious, and fun while not intrusive or interruptive. They have attentive staff who brings and takes away dishes with great sense of timing. Water service is anticipatory, and not perfunctory passby or topping-off. Wine service engaging and generous. They also make it comfortable for you to linger if you desire - they don't clear the table obsessively at the end. All this they do with smile and ease, and it is a difficult balance to achieve as we run into these issues more often than expected at starred or even reputable places for their service. Perhaps we were there on a lucky day when the right mix of staff was present, maybe a glass of Cascina Francia G. Conterno from Piemonte got the better of me, but I think with or without I found their service just terrific, and was certainly so for the afternoon of this lunch.
