Took a friend there today and we were both quite satisfied with the choice. We had been there previously when Bryan Sikora was the chef and while I remember it being good, I think it was better this time.

They offer a $25 prix fixe lunch which gives you a choice of one starter and a sandwich/plate. I chose the mussels for my starter and then the burger, my friend had the potato soup and the burger.

The mussels were very good, but at the normal price of $14, I thought the portion was a bit small, but that comes from a person who is from South Philly and is used to bucket-sized mussel portions from the corner bar. My friend said the soup was good also.

The burger, however, was *really* good. I ordered it medium rare and it came that way with cheddar cheese, pickles, lettuce, & mayo (I skipped the onions). I was offered a choice of salad or fries to go with it and chose the fries, which were some of the best I have had. Crispy on the outside and almost pillowy inside.

I think that burger surpassed Good Dog in my rankings. Maybe a tie with Village Whiskey. But those fries...
