I went to Maremma last night and had a very good experience. The space is nicely laid out and seating was well-spaced. It was very refreshing not having to sit in our neighbors' laps. Service was also very pleasant and knowledgeable.
On to the food: We shared the coyote appetizer (our server's recommendation), which is described as "Tuscan flap jacks with basil walnut pesto." The "flap jacks" were actually like thin, long, wide pieces of pasta (like papparedelle). The dish was very good--I wish I didn't have to share.
For entrees, I had the fish of the day (bass) and my boyfriend had the Tuscan steak. The fish of the day was bass, which was served with cauliflower and thinly sliced potatoes. A very nice dish, especially the cauliflower. My boyfriend's Tuscan steak (a skirt steak) had a nice smokey flavor, and the corona beans in tomato sauce that were served with them were plump and delicious.
We ended the meal with flourless chocolate cake (him) and mascarpone cheesecake (me). The chocolate cake was fine. I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake, but this one was wonderfully light and sweet. Really excellent.
