I'm looking for good, durable thermometers, one for candy and one for the oven. Ideally, I'd like one of Rose Levy Berenbaum's line of Cordon Rose candy thermometers, but nothing's coming up on the Google searches. If I can't get one of those, what do kind would all you confectioners out there recommend? I think I want an analog thermometer for the accuracy's sake. Digital thermometers tend to drift out of calibration over time. My other criterion is that the numbers be etched into the glass, rather than painted on.
The other thing I need is an oven thermometer that won't burn out in my oven. I've gone through four, count 'em, FOUR oven thermometers in the past two years. Taylor products SUCK but that's all our local stores seem to carry.
