"I loved it and I don't even like _________" Is this a good recommendation or a bad one?

Please help me out here if you can...

I hear this phrase more and more often. "I loved those doughnuts and I don't even like doughnuts" "I never like lamb but this lamb was great" "I never like pizza but this pizza was great" The list goes on...

So what does this really mean? Is it a good recommendation to follow or a bad one? Are they in fact tuned in to the ultimate "something" or are they finally satisfied because the true taste and texture has been adequately hidden for them? Does it mean anything?
