I must admit I was disappointed this past Sunday when we met friends there for brunch. I have been to Taboon maybe 4-5 times, including at least 2x for brunch. The last time was in May. I do not live in the city and so plan my chowhound trips carefully. Taboon has stopped serving the basket of homemade brioche and other wonderful breads/pastry at their Sunday brunch! There is nothing sweet on the menu
( other than the French toast)... no dessert items at all! Our server told us that their baker had left for a while and that is why they stopped the brioche selection. I am such a big baby, I almost cried when I realized I had spent a month fantasizing about this meal! The rest of the brunch was delicious, as usual. I am just surprised that Taboon has changed for the worst since getting 2 stars from Frank Bruni.
