In my circle, we've had many a passionate discussion about the virtues (or not) of spam (or pork luncheon meat as we called it in Asia), and the lines are clearly drawn in color. It seems all the (east) Asians love this stuff, while the Caucasians, who are otherwise fairly adventurous eaters, can't comprehend its allure! I am told for Koreans it has to do with growing up 'poor' in Korea, so spam, belonging at the meat end of the food continuum, was considered a delicacy. I love fried/ grilled spam and steamed rice, or a spam sandwich with white bread and cucumber like my aunt used to make! Your views?
