Louisville - Lunch at Avalon

bonmann | Oct 5, 200807:11 PM

I am an Indianapolis resident that was passing through Louisville today. Based on recommendations found on this board, I stopped for lunch at Avalon in Louisville. As thanks for the recommendations, I thought I would post a review.

I sat on the patio which was perfect on a day like today (in fact I don’t think there were any patrons inside the restaurant at all). The patio is at the side of restaurant and therefore sits near the street but there is a vegetation barrier between the patio and the sidewalk. I sat next to some very beautiful flowers that I can’t identify because I have a black thumb.

I had the Turkey sandwich. The sandwich has apples and cheddar and bacon in addition to the turkey. The combination works very well. It is served with a garlic mayonnaise that I think was housemade and was very, very good.

Service was good with the waiter being attentive but not overly so with a middle-aged single diner.
