Lost chili recipe from Bon Appetit

Jess | Dec 8, 2005 04:00 PM

Well, not so much lost, as I gave away all my Bon Appetits, thinking all the recipes are on epicurious.com. For whatever reason, I've been unable to locate this recipe on that site.

I got BA from maybe 2001-2004, and this chili recipe was, I believe, in the front letters section where people ask for restaurant recipes. I think. I remember it contained black beans, stew beef, jalapenos and red wine. Very little tomato product, if any. It may have had ground beef. It had such an interesting flavor, I think mostly because of the red wine and lack of tomato. I thought the name of it was something like "Black bean jalapeno chili" but that yielded no leads.

I tried the "Boston Marathon Chili" from epicurious, thinking that may have been it, but, while good, not what I remember.

If any of you come across it, I think even the title of it would be helpful in my epicurious search, if you don't have time to type in the ingredients. Thanks.
