How is it possible that we had not been to Lorena’s in over two years. One of the very best restaurants in the entire Metro area, Lorena’s and the brilliant chef – owner Humberto Campos Jr deserve every bit of the accolades they have accumulated over the years.
Some quick notes on our dinner there Friday night with our good friends. My simple descriptions do no justice to the extraordinary food and service at Lorena’s.
Started with a fresh oyster, served with a briny champagne mignon. A real treat. We then had Scottish Salmon Tartar, Roasted Organic Beets, Warm Mushroom and Crabmeat Crepe and Puree of Butternut Squash Soup. All were delicious and beautifully plated. Entrees were two orders of Free Range Duck Breast, Atlantic Skate Wing Fillet and Roasted Organic Chicken Breast. Perfect preparations and flavors to match.
Desserts are every bit as innovative and tasty. Warm Chocolate With Raspberry Sauce, Espresso Panna Cotta, Apple Tart with Gelato and Warm Pear, Almond and Rum Raisin Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce. What a way to end a meal!.
