loquats and lemoncello sorbet

Summer's definitely arrived. I made a stop at the Serramonte farmer's market this morning, and once again felt like I had wandered into Mayberry, with apricot samples.

The corn people haven't arrived yet, but I managed to snag my first great tomatoes this season, a box of loquats, a fine levain, bouquets of sweet peas, and of course the apricots. The berry man couldn't resist filling my strawberry and raspberry baskets to overflowing. Seriously, this is a friendly place. Also enjoyed Dalek's artichoke dip, which I noticed has swiss cheese and walnuts in it.

The market is Thursday mornings until 1 behind Target and Saturday mornings until (I think) 2. Probably one-third organic. Highly recommended.

I detoured by Mitchell's on the way home. This week's sorbet is Lemoncello. While it's not going to give Delfina's extraordinary apricot sorbet a run for the money, it was perfect for a sunny day.
