I have been thinking of going to Frontera Grill during my visit to Chicago, but the horror stories of one to two hour waits reduce the appeal.
Does anyone know if a Tuesday night is as bad as Saturday?
Early appearance to beat the crowds is not an option since we are flying in to O'Hare and the earliest we could get to the restaurant would probably be around 8:15. Adding on an expected wait of 90 to that means sitting down at around 9:45. At least 20 minutes for the food means around 10:00 PM plus an hour for the time change from EST, means my 16 year old and I would be eating at 11:00 if we are lucky. This is not Madrid and we won't have had an evening of tapas to get us through the wait.
Does FT do tapas?
I would be inclined to go to a simpler place like Doña Lolis which has no razmatazz or Burger King endorsements, but my Chicago hosts may not be so inclined and in principle I would like to see if Frontera is worth the hipe.
