London visit report - and thank you.

We had a wonderful six days in London. I wish it could have been longer!

The first day, even though we were sleepy, we did get to Great Queen Street. Very enjoyable, everything good.

Day 2 was a Sunday, and we got to Relais de Venise. We heeded warnings and were there early; we queued up at 6 (first ones) before the 6:30 opening. A fun place! You can't order steak "medium rare", only rare or medium, which scared off my group, but I stuck to rare and it was perfect.
The fries are excellent, hot and crisp, and wine was inexpensive.

Day 3's dinner was very special. We did the pre-theatre special at L'Autre Pied, which is available from 6 to 6:45. This was one of the best meals I have ever had.
We almost didn't go because the menu didn't look appealing. All I can say is, if I lived in London, I would be there regularly. It was superb. You can see the menu online.
The combination of ingredients, the attention to detail, the exquisite tastes - just wonderful.

Day 4 - thanks so much for recommending RSJ. It was delightful. Five minutes from the National Theatre (One Man, Two Guvs was hilarious) with no rushing, no pressure.
Charming place, and everything everyone ordered was excellent.

After that, we had no days for a full dinner, but we did get to Selfridge's for my husband to have a salt-beef sandwich. I had half (they sell halves) of a tongue sandwich, which I loved. I haven't had tongue for years; it's rarely available here. Meats are hand-sliced and warm, and it was a treat.

Each morning we tried a different cafe or patisserie on the Marylebone High Street. I really do miss that! But we are back to our daily bagels in Philly (which are quite good) until we can come to London again. The International Song Competition (outstanding) will be on again in 2013 and - who knows - maybe I'll be back on this Board asking for help again.

Thank you.
