London, food friendly places to live -thank you

I wanted to post a new message thanking all of you for your advice on food frendly places to live in London. My husband and I are heading out to London on May 15th to go in search of housing and take a look of the areas.

On all of your advice, I'm targeting Borough, The area south of Chelsea that was recommended, and we're also going to look at West Hampstead on the advice of other friends.

I'm concerned with the comments about not wanting to live in Borough! Why? Here in New York, if I could do it all over I'd choose to live as close to Chelsea Market as possible... my life outside of work revolves around restaurants and cooking and unless I have proximity to good produce, quality products... that means lugging heavy grocery bags across town. Is Borough like New York's westernmost Chelsea?

Naoko, can you tell me why you didn't like West Hampstead? Our other friends say a lot of good restaurants have popped up in the area and the flats look like they are in our price range along with good transportation... it meets many of our needs... but I'd love the opinion of another foodie.

Thanks,

Akiko
