This is especially for Tony and Simon...just wanted to let you know that my husband's birthday has now come and gone and the dinner was a success. Although I didn't take any of the suggestions after all-due to a change in nights-wound up going Sat., then couldn't get in to most places....Anyhow, we went to Rousillon, off Sloane Square. It was wonderful. The service was perfect, homemade bread-and a wide variety, a complimentary starter before the amuse bouche, great food, a baby creme brulee (before dessert!), and tiny truffle and other sweets with the bill. Furthermore, they put white truffle shavings on the amuse bouche!!!
My dessert was a disappointment, chocolat fondant that tasted like a dark choc. brownie, but really the rest of the meal was so good and there were so many other sweets that it didn't matter.
The best part about this place is that the service is down to earth-they are not at all about snobbery or slickness...and they've got a michelin star! Highly recommend it.
