A friend sent me an article from a NYC newspaper. The writer had sought out 'inexpensive' places to eat in London and highly praised Al Waha. As he included Amaya in his list of places to try, I'm not sure how credible this person is because I always thought of Amaya as in a different category. You'll note the prices are in $$ not ££.
Here's the quote:
>For a true bargain, head north back across the Thames to the sensational little Lebanese gem Al Waha (the oasis). You could happily make a meal out of the hot and cold appetizers, brilliantly executed classics such as hummus, tabbouleh, muhammarah (crushed nuts mixed with hot spices), or by ordering more unusual items: grilled quail with lemon juice or sweetbreads fried with mixed herbs, all of them priced in a range from $8 to $15. The daily special main course, sabanek (spinach cooked with garlic and coriander), ran only $20.<
