Hi all... I've recently taken over a position that will entail me to plan the casual group holiday party. They have gone to a pool hall/restaurant the last few years and have gotten a nice deal, but given I'm planning, I don't want to drive a hour.. and honestly.. I didn't like the place all that much. It's Mid October and I don't want to deal with last minute.. besides I'll be nice and let the people have a small (if insignificant) vote on location ;).
Looking for a fun place with a casual bar like atmosphere. Beer, wine, sports, games (not specific like a bowling alley.. but maybe pool tables).. those are all good topics. I am very unsure of the total # but maybe between 20 and 40. I'd like to avoid going into DC given this will be a Friday afternoon/evening and some here drive a far distance and won't go into DC.
Looking for a food package to include appetizers. Budget is small (under $700) so it would just be food and non alcoholic drinks only. Full meals will be on the employees as well as BEvERages. This is really a casual group who enjoy a good time... so not looking for a sit down back room dinner with linen napkins kind of thing.
The 495 corridor between say Northern Northern VA and Greenbelt area is the focus of my search. I've read some previous posts and haven't found a place mentioned yet I like. Most have been outside of my focus area or too expensive.
Thanks for suggestions!
