Best Local Chocolates in the world - online sources (long)

The Boston and SF boards have recently been discussing favorite local chocolates (Burdicks, Recchuiti XOX)

Love that internet because many of these local gems can be ordered on line. So searching through the boards and archives, I put together a list that includes
- Chocolate (brief description)
- web site
- thread to local discussion

The list is more or less alphabetical by location. I just searched on the word “chocolate” on all the boards. So I might have missed some threads without that word in the title.

Didn’t include those chocolates that you can get nationally (Neuhaus, Godiva.. Leonidas. Teuscher. etc) Just those places that are only found in limited locations. However, the following link has websites for these (as well as some local chocolates that have not been discussed by Chowhounds).Actually it has good reviews in a nice format.

Also, I did not include chocolates that didn’t have an on-line shop referenced.

I’m thinking that additional posts to this thread could just have the same info (name, website …with a detailed thread being started on the appropriate local board.)

This is just about the type of chocolates you give your sweetie. Not cooking chocolate, hot chocolate, chocolate chips, etc

Probably some location mistakes, but this was a quick search. I think Burdicks is really based in New Hampshire rather than Boston.

Happy web trip. Have chocolate. Will travel.

Proabably the most beautiful looking chocolates in the world. Hand made boxes and tins are collectors items. Summer is here and there are starfish , lobsters, tropical fish, clam shells….This is borderline. I think that these may be available outside of California.
