Lighter meals in Austin

jlawrence01 | Sep 14, 2004 10:35 PM

i spent a couple of months planning a long weekend in Lafayette, LA but since the hurricane is heading in that direction, I think that we will be forced to make some changes.

So, we have about 3 1/2 days to spend in Austin. I spent most of last night reviewing the past 16 months worth of posts on Austin eateries, the battle over the best BBQ, the best "real' Mexican food and the like. I truly wish that I had the time to try all of the recommendations.

We pretty much decided that we probably won't do the ACL Fest but will spend most of the days taking long strolls throughout the city and seeing the various museums, etc.

Personally, if I had my druthers, I would eat my way through every BBQ joint. However, I don't think that my body can handle a huge infusion of meat at every meal. Can some one make some recommendations for some lighter meals at reasonable prices (~$15pp tops) that can help offset some of the heavier ones?

Thanks in advance
