Lhassa Fast Food and Nepali Bhanchha Ghar- report

stuartlafonda | Oct 31, 201811:10 AM     4

As I am not a big dumpling fan, it took so long but I finally got to LFF. Tried the beef momo in soup, last picture on the right when facing the wall. Good news, bad news. The beef momo was excellent, as good a filling as I can recall but the soup was insipid. I had to ask the nice woman what it was and she said chicken broth. Uh, no. No chicken had been near my soup. If I closed my eyes my guess would have been...... nothing.
I walked out disappointed and still a little hungry. When I got to my car I realized it was parked in front of another Nepalese spot. I looked it up and saw they were well known for their jhol momo, thanks Joey D. I love spice so I walked in and grabbed a spot at one of the three tables, after they moved the boxes off. The jhol momo and the broth were outstanding. As I sat waiting I saw the women frying a bagel/pretzel thing, a sel roti, so I ordered one. Not impressed. Fairly tasteless and very oily.
So, at the end of the day I was satisfied and sated. I think I like them fried so I got a few more spots in the area to check out for fried versions, but, any 'hound suggestions?
