We went for lunch.
There was a Reuben sandwich which used sweet pickled red cabbage instead of sauerkraut and it worked really well. It came with fresh, just made, crisps that were still hot from the fryer.
Meatloaf was also good – nice and moist and topped with a zingy tomato sauce. Alongside, mashed potato which was pretty much just potatoes mashed, rather than the overly sloppy preparations you often come across. Green leaves and carrots were very “al dente” in the way that restaurants used to fashionably serve them in the 1980s before they realised they’re actually much better if cooked a little longer.
