Lemon thief

I have a small Meyer lemon tree in my back yard. This is it's first year producing. Friday I went out to the back and picked a couple off the tree for my chicken. I went out yesterday afternoon to pick one for my salad dressing I stood there in dismay as I looked at the tree and saw only two lemons. There were at least twenty ripe before . Where did they all go? None to be found anywhere, or on the ground.

After picking the one lemon I had only one left on the tree. I went and checked this morning and that lemon was gone! I have a solid six foot fence with a locked gate. Do you know of any animals that would take the lemons? I do not think this was done by a person. There are plenty of lemon trees in our neighborhood. I am totally baffled. Maybe it's time to get a trail cam. Ever hear of such a thing?
