Legal Seafood in Warwick, RI

On our 2nd year anniversary, I wanted to take my wife someplace nice after work. Spain Restaurant (a favorite) in Cranston was our first choice but they close every Tuesday so we headed to Legal Seafood on Rt 1 in Warwick. I thought that, on a Tuesday night, I wouldn't have to wait for a table. Wrong!!! I waited about 30min (it was worth it). We sat down and ordered Rhode Island style calamari which is fried and then tossed with hot peppers and light oil. Wonderful! For an entree, my wife ordered the seafood in spicy tomato broth over linguine (shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams). I ordered seafood ravioli topped with shrimp and lobster sauce. What really stuck out was how perfectly the shrimp was cooked- just to the point where it has a "snappy" texture and sweet.

After hearing bad reviews about the Legal Seafoods locations in MA, we were reluctant to try this place in Warwick but we're glad we did. Some RI locals told me that there are a lot of students from the Johnson and Wales U culinary program were interning there (it's across the street) and that's why they are better. I'll be back. But I'll alternate between Spain restaurant and Legal.
