Le Select

Just returned from a very disappointing lunch at Le Select.

We use to go quite often and enjoyed many meals there. Was craving onion soup and Le Pappilon is closed Mondays so we decided on LS.

The service was terrible. So many slips. We asked for fresh pepper and the waitress just plonks the grinder down. Very awkwardly she asks if she can do it for us. At the same time she brings a small plate to our already very crowded table for three. I asked what the plate is for and she replies "in case you want bread". But she never came around with the bread basket. The entire time they kept plopping down plates for the wrong person. They had no idea who ordered what and rather then ask, it was like they were guessing. We had to request a change of cutlery after our fish course otherwise it wasn't going to happen.

On to the food, the onion soup was good. The lobster fettuccine was also good but both arrived cold. The seared tuna was tasteless as was the salmon tartare.

All in all it was very disappointing.

On our way out we decided to speak to the owner. He admitted that the 2 servers were new and he was going to immediately address our concerns. As for the food issues he really had no comment except to say he was very sorry and that "he will make sure to take care of us when we return". Huh? Fat chance of that. Ain't gonna happen.
