Le Petit Dejeuner - King Street East

DAB | Feb 2, 2005 05:15 PM

We went here for brunch on Saturday morning, as wife has waited to go for awhile. It is alwasy busy on the weekend and we had guests in town.

This place is awful. The service was dreadful. We stood waiting at the door for a good 10+ minutes before we were even approached (normally I would have just walked out, but my wife really wanted to try this place). We were ignored for a further 10 minutes until a server came up to the table. The food was sub-par at best and nothing special to speak of.

We were not offered additional coffee or tea and the bill was given to us without us even asking for it - a real "treat 'em and street 'em" type of service. We did not feel any welcome from the staff who were too busy chatting amongst themselves to pay any attention to us, or to anyone, so it seemed.

And to top it all off.....I then got very sick off the food (the only food that I had eaten that day) later on that day!

I think in this area, I'll stick with Toba or St Lawrence Market!
