We're heading up to NY to visit some elderly relatives this weekend who are taking us to Le-Bernardin for dinner. We've never been there. In looking at their menu on-line it appears to be a prix-fixed menu that costs $100 per person exclusive of drinks. Other than the costlier tasting menu is this the only way to order there? We are concerned because these relatives are living on a fixed income; yet they'd be offended and upset if we offered/demanded to pay. They've only dined there once themselves and were guests of someone else when they did; so I'm not even sure they know the high cost of the fare. Any suggestions on this delicate topic? Also, any recommended dishes to order would be appreciated. TIA.
