Latest Chinese Mashup-5-Taste Kitchen Replaces Chung King in Artesia

Chandavkl | Dec 12, 201411:46 AM     3

A recurring undercurrent on this board has been the emergence of authentic Chinese restaurants that cannot be pigeonholed in a particular regional cuisine. Latest is 5-Taste Kitchen which has just replaced the Sichuan style Chung King in the 99 Ranch shopping center on Pioneer. 5-Taste is primarily a kitchen prepared hot pot/dry pot restaurant, where you choose your ingredients and they cook it for you. (There is a wall full of small placards for each ingredient. You take one for each ingredient you want and they take all your choices into the kitchen. Also combos by weight.) Besides the hot pot/dry pots, they've also dived into the duck parts craze, offering duck necks, duck feet, duck wings, duck gizzard and duck tongue by the pound ($58.85 for the latter), or in your pot.
